About this study

You will be asked some questions and then complete a simulation. The questions are regarding what demographics you fall into and verify if you are in the target group for the study.

The simulation

The simulation will track your engagement with short-form content and will simulate a very comparable experience to scrolling short-form content on TikTok or Instagram. The total process should take no longer than 10 minutes but will vary depending on how you engage. The simulation tracks button presses and engagement duration.

Your data & anonymity

All data collected in this study is stored anonymously. By completing the questions and simulation you consent to the data you provide and generate being used in an undergraduate dissertation. Your data will be stored securely in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018).

Your right to withdraw

If you do not wish to take part, simply close this page now — no data will be recorded. After you have proceeded to the simulation, data including your engagement data will only be deleted if you request it. If for any reason you do not want your data to be used in the study after completing the simulation, you may email zceimk0@ucl.ac.uk and request it to be removed.
